SPINDLES-

1) Threads

    a) size- our spindles are all 8mm.  But we do have some threaded 7mm passage spindles in stock.  (701201)

    b) size- our 8mm spindle threads are 3/8"-20, this is most common historical size

    c) fitment- many historical knobs will fit our spindles, but we cannot guarantee this

2) Types-

    a) threaded (for Restoration products- currently used only for HOAH), and non-threaded (used on pre-attached [KP] knobs ).

    b) passages and privacies use the same type split-spindle privacy-  we have two types:

        1) old style- screws together and has a visible post on one half (these break, and a current spindle can be substituted)

        2) current style- swivel joint in middle, pop-up button to center in latch

    c) dummy-

        1) surface-mounted to the door with three screws, knob screws-on to hold rosette/plate in-place via Restoration

        2) two different lengths (27mm-701069, and 18mm-701084), COT, STU, CRA, MIS require the shorter version (701084)

    d) mortise- uses solid spindles, may fit other mortise locks, but we cannot guarantee this- some older mortise locks use 7mm

    e) handleset- four different versions:

3) Lengths

a) passage- 100mm (4")

b) privacy- 100mm (4"), and 82mm (3 1/4"), ONLY  old COT/STU w/o knob bushing use 82mm

c) dummy- 27mm ( 1 1/6") and 18mm (3/4")- COT, STU, CRA, MIS require the shorter version (701084)

d) handleset- 74mm (3")
